Thus begins my one-in-a-billion yearly list of the music that helped get me through 2009. In lieu of fancy, pretentious language describing something that I probably don't completely understand I'll provide some samples to speak on their own.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if a Plecostomus were to attempt to suck on your face? If not, then you are strange.

On Friday nights Charleston Riverdogs baseball game attendees are granted a special treat. On these nights we get fireworks. It's a rather great experience actually. $5 gets you in where you get to watch an entire game, experience the gamut of characters vending everything from peanuts to beer to flashing swords that will tempt any of us with a child hiding within our being, dive into a wide selection of food from the greasy fried chicken to gourmet pizza to the mysterious dippin' dots, drink very large beers for very few dollars, and wrap it all up with a fireworks show. This is cheap entertainment at its best.

However, this is about that last little facet; the fireworks. Let's face it, fireworks are beautiful and they make us happy. So, have a taste:

Geeky Fun With An LCD Monitor

You probably have never noticed, but your monitor is made up of these elusive little pixels. They consist of Red, Green, and Blue lights of sorts that make up all the colors and shapes your monitor ever shows. Here is an example:

Believe it or not, what you see above is actually WHITE when you view it on your monitor. Go grab a loupe and put it up to a white part of the monitor and you'll see this very thing. There's a pretty little chart floating somewhere around this site, which is missing a decent explanation I might add, but it hints at what's going on here. Basically it's this: magic. And for those curious, this is taken from an Apple iMac 24" monitor.

Here is a clever and demonstrative example of how it works:

Now on to the fun part. See if you can guess what these colors are.

Color 1
